Does Freedom800® replace my current phone service?
No. Freedom800® is designed to work in conjunction with your current phone service and is primarily used as an inbound call management service. Your everyday outgoing calls remain with your current local, long distance and/or cell provider and work exactly the same is it does now.
However, for those wanting to show the toll free number as the number displayed on the caller id for outbound calls, we offer a feature called the virtual calling card which allows you to dial into our network and make an outbound call, thus hiding the phone number of the phone you are calling from while showing the caller id as your toll free number. The virtual calling card is not meant to replace outbound calling for any particular device, but rather as an alternative for certain situations.
For those with more robust outbound calling needs, we offer a Digital Phone Service that provides unlimited calling to anywhere in the US or Canada for one low monthly fee. Learn more about how our digital outbound phone service works or view commonly asked questions about it.
